Our brand is built on family, which is exactly why our founders Kathy & Brent Stevenson decided to name the brand after their dog, Bella Rouge!
For years we’ve been creating delicious food products for local communities everywhere that contain a whole lot of love, heart & soul – products like our signature, allpurpose barbecue sauce, available in 2 flavors – Bella Rouge Original and Chipotle.
Inspired by a centuries old family recipe, this distinctive Louisiana styled sauce is a perfect balance of tang, spice, and sweetness – with a little heat. Our small batch, allpurpose barbecue sauce contains chunks of slowcooked caramelized onions, cracked black pepper, southern molasses, with smoky paprika and hints of parsley, and citrus – plus our secret ingredient – locally brewed beer from Short’s award winning microbrewery in Michigan.
We’ve kept our complete recipe a secret, but we will let you in on this: our first secret ingredient is love, the second is a simmering passion for Highland Park, Detroit and the “Mitten State”, where our sauce is made – and the third is our joy of being in the coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina!
